Congress has suffered a major setback in Indore Lok Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh. Its candidate Akshay Kanti Bam withdrew his nomination on Monday and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). After this, political activity intensified and Congress is attacking BJP. Now she will support NOTA on Indore seat. Besides, small meetings will be held in every ward for this. Congress says that it will not support any independent candidate.
State Congress President Jitu Patwari has said that earlier booths were captured, now only the candidate is being captured. This fight is not between BJP-Congress. Congress is not contesting elections now. Its election symbol itself has been removed, but this fight is now for justice. It is about the political identity of Indore. We will not boycott the elections, but we have the option of NOTA.
BJP is acting arbitrarily – Jitu Patwari
Regarding independent candidates, Jitu Patwari said that we have saved them from BJP. He has raised questions on the District Election Officer and said that the time for withdrawal of nominations was three o’clock, but things continued till four o’clock. Congress will not support anyone. BJP is continuously killing democracy, but the situation is such that no one is even being allowed to contest elections. If there is power then it is acting as per its own will. Now it has become the responsibility of Congress to teach a lesson to BJP.
Madhya Pradesh Minister and BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya had given information regarding withdrawal of nomination of Congress candidate in Indore. He had tweeted and said that Congress Lok Sabha candidate from Indore, Akshay Kanti Bam is welcomed in BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party’s national president JP Nadda, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and state president VD Sharma.
How did BJP win Surat seat?
Earlier last month, Congress’ Surat candidate Nilesh Kumbhani was out of the election race after the District Returning Officer prima facie found discrepancies in the signatures of the proposers and his candidature was rejected. The nomination form of the party’s second candidate for the seat, Suresh Padsala, was also rejected. Kumbhani had claimed that his party colleagues did not help him during the election campaign.
However, the Congress hit back saying that the cancellation of nomination was part of a plan by Kumbhani and also suspended him from the party for six years. Apart from Congress, a total of eight candidates including Pyarelal Bharti of Bahujan Samaj Party chose to withdraw their nomination from Surat. After this, on 22 April, BJP achieved its first victory in the Lok Sabha elections. BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal won unopposed from Surat Lok Sabha seat.
