The Uttar Pradesh government has announced big relief for the elderly and destitute women. Lakhs of needy people suffering from financial crisis will now get the benefit of pension of Rs 1500 every month. Giving information about this important initiative on the occasion of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the aim of the government is to provide a dignified and safe life to the weaker sections of the society.
This step of the state government has brought relief to the elderly and women who are deprived of any permanent source of regular income. The aim of the government is to ensure that no elderly or destitute woman of the state is deprived of a dignified life due to economic deprivation. The government believes that by providing financial assistance, their standard of living will improve and they will be able to easily meet their daily needs.
Financial assistance will be provided every month
The monthly pension of Rs 1500 given by the state government will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries. This amount will prove helpful for the elderly and destitute women in meeting their medicine, food and other essential expenses. Experts believe that many people face financial difficulties due to lack of regular source of income in old age. In such a situation, this amount of pension can become an important support for them. This will also help destitute women to become self-reliant.
Beneficiaries will also be connected to health facilities
The government has not limited its scheme to pension only. To provide better health services to eligible beneficiaries, they will also be linked to Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Under these schemes, eligible families get cashless health facilities worth up to lakhs of rupees for the treatment of serious diseases. This can provide relief to the elderly and women to a great extent from the worry of heavy treatment expenses.
Will also get benefit from housing schemes
The state government has also clarified that the process of connecting the eligible people who do not have a permanent house to live in with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Chief Minister Awas Yojana will also be expedited. Providing facilities like pension, health and housing together is expected to bring a massive change in the lives of the beneficiaries.
