As Parliament deadlock continues, PM Modi to address key NDA meet, INDIA bloc to go into huddle

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Tuesday address the NDA parliamentary party meeting, amid the ongoing impasse in Parliament. The meeting, being held after a long gap, will be attended by the MPs of the ruling alliance. This will the first such gathering during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament.

The key NDA meet comes amid a logjam in Parliament during the Monsoon Session that saw a two-day discussion on the Pahalagam terror attack an Operation Sindoor. The Opposition has been disrupting the proceeding as it is constantly protesting against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar by the Election Commission. During today’s meeting, PM Modi is likely to speak on a range of key issues, including Opposition’s protest, the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. He is also likely to be felicitated by the parliamentary party over his government’s military response to the terror strike.

The ruling alliance’s meeting also comes days before the filing of nomination for Vice President’s election begins from August 7. The election is slated to be held on September 9. The NDA will have to decide on the candidate’s name for the constitutional post by August 21, which is the last date of nomination-filing and the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Meanwhile, leaders of the INDIA Opposition bloc are scheduled to meet on Tuesday to discuss their strategy for the ongoing Parliament session. The meeting will be held at at 10 am in the Parliament Library Building, in the office of the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha. After the meeting, the Opposition MPs will hold a protest at 10:30 am in front of Makar Dwar in Parliament against the SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar. The protest will be held under the slogan, ‘our vote, our right, our fight’.
