Owaisi brought PDM against PDA, will it spoil Akhilesh Yadav's game in UP?

In the Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’s Asududdin Owaisi has given a new slogan in place of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) slogan. Owaisi has given the slogan of PDM (Backward, Dalit and Muslim) before the elections. On Sunday, Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) and AIMIM joined hands to form a new alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Let us tell you that before the announcement of the alliance, Apna Dal (K) leader Pallavi Patel had met AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi in Hyderabad three days ago.

The official announcement of the alliance was made in the joint press conference of Pallavi Patel and Asaduddin Owaisi in Lucknow on Sunday.
He has given the alliance a new slogan – PDM (Backward, Dalit and Muslim), which has been taken from SP’s PDA (Backward Dalit Minority). On March 23, Apna Dal (K) had withdrawn its candidates from three Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh – Phulpur, Mirzapur and Kaushambi.

PDM formed against PDA

In a statement, the Krishna Patel-led party said it has canceled the list of candidates declared for the Lok Sabha elections until further notice. Earlier the party had talked about contesting elections on three seats.

Apna Dal (K) had contested the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP), with Patel contesting on the SP ticket.

Pallavi Patel made this allegation on SP

Taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadav, Pallavi Patel said that there was confusion regarding A in PDA, sometimes it became minority, sometimes it became forward and sometimes it became all. To remove this confusion we have added M. PDM stands for Backward-Dalit-Muslim.

After breaking the alliance with SP, Pallavi Patel had targeted SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and said that 47 SP MLAs had won in 2017. β€œIn the year 2022, Om Prakash Rajbhar ji, Sanjay Chauhan, Keshav Dev Maurya, Jayant Chaudhary, Rajmata Krishna Patel came. Then you went from 47 to 111 and you got 34 percent votes. You suddenly start feeling that these 34 percent are your votes alone and you do not need anyone’s support.”
