Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Smriti Mandhana, could not score a hat-trick of wins in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Delhi Capitals handed them their first defeat of this season in the match played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday night. For Delhi Capitals, Shefali Verma scored the second half-century and made a partnership of 82 runs with Alyssa Capsey for the second wicket, on the basis of which Delhi defeated RCB by 25 runs. Batting first, Delhi scored 194 runs losing five wickets on the basis of Shefali’s 50 runs and Capsy’s 46 runs. RCB captain Mandhana tried her best to lead her team to victory by playing an inning of 74 runs but could not succeed. RCB could score only 169 runs after losing nine wickets in 20 overs.
