Abandoned child was found at Neemuch railway station
According to the information, around the year 2019-20, a deaf and mute child of about 12 years had reached Neemuch railway station while wandering alone. He had no identity card and could not identify himself. After preliminary investigation and efforts, the Child Welfare Committee sent the child to Gharaunda Ashram in Sagar, so that he could be taken care of. In the ashram he was given the new name ‘Virendra alias Ram’.
During this time, police records were searched, efforts were made to match fingerprints and information was sent to different states, but no clue was found related to the identity of the child. The surprising thing was that his missing report was not even registered in any police station.
When all roads were closed, a unique experiment showed light
Despite continuous failures, ashram director Preeti Yadav did not lose hope. She shared the child’s pictures on social media, took him to different districts and cities, but was not successful. After this he adopted a different approach. She started showing the child pictures of different cities, religious places, temples and mosques of the country on the laptop. This effort continued for months. Then one day something happened that changed the whole story.
Everything changed after seeing the picture of the mosque
The child suddenly became excited after seeing the picture of a mosque on the laptop screen. He indicated through his gestures and body language that this was the same place, which was located near his house. Preeti Yadav took this signal seriously and started contacting the people associated with that mosque and the local committee. Pictures of the child were sent there and gradually this information spread through social media and local networks.
Family found in Anand district of Gujarat
The pictures finally reached a village in Anand district of Gujarat. A laborer family living there recognized the child as soon as they saw the photo. The family told that this is their son ‘Kabir Raine’, who had suddenly gone missing about three years ago. Due to financial weakness and lack of information, they could not even lodge a formal complaint about her disappearance. The family had tears in their eyes after seeing their son’s picture. Years of waiting were finally coming to an end.
Emotions spilled over video call
After all the administrative and legal processes were completed, Kabir and his parents were brought face to face through video call. This moment was very emotional. Three years later, a family was looking for their lost son. There were no words on either side, but the tears flowing from the eyes were telling the story of that meeting which is not easy to describe in words. Now Kabir will soon leave from Sagar for his home in Anand district of Gujarat.
Preeti Yadav’s hard work became an example
Preeti Yadav, director of Gharaunda Ashram, says that the hope of meeting his family was always visible in the eyes of the child. He told that only when the child reacted to the picture of the mosque, he was convinced that the destination was not far. The biggest lesson of this story is to try continuously for three years, adopt new methods and not give up.
