Since Amavasya Tithi will be present at the time of sunrise on 15th June, hence bathing, charity, tarpan and religious works will all be done on this Amavasya day.
Why is this day special from religious point of view?
In Hindu religion, Amavasya is considered a special day for the peace and offering of ancestors. At the same time, when Amavasya falls on Monday, its importance increases further. There is a tradition of worshiping Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Peepal tree on the day of Somvati Amavasya. Along with this, this Amavasya is falling in Adhikamas i.e. Purushottam month. Purushottam month is considered dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The results of charity, fasting, chanting and devotion done during this period are said to be manifold.
