The provision of limit of two children was in force since 2001.

In fact, in the year 2001, based on the decision taken by the then state government, the General Administration Department had implemented a system. Under this, candidates with more than two living children were considered ineligible for direct recruitment and departmental appointments in government services. According to the then rules, candidates having more than two living children on or after January 26, 2001 were not considered eligible for government jobs. This provision was applicable under Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (General Conditions of Service) Rules, 1961.

There was a provision for misconduct for government employees also

Not only the recruitment process, but the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965 also included provisions related to more than two children. According to these rules, if a government servant had more than two children, it was considered a matter of misconduct.

Proposed rules will be changed on the instructions of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav

Taking cognizance of the matter, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given clear instructions to the General Administration Department that the draft of the proposed Madhya Pradesh Civil Service Rules should be canceled with immediate effect. Also, the provisions that declare a person ineligible for government service if he has more than two living children should be completely removed. He has directed the department to prepare a revised draft and re-publish it duly, so that this type of disqualification condition is not included in the new rules.

Old format will be removed from the portal immediately

As per the instructions of CM Mohan Yadav, the currently available proposed format will be immediately removed from the departmental portal. After this, the process of issuing a new draft of the amended rules will be completed.
