We already informed our readers that Hyundai is gearing up to launch an all-new SUV on 26th October. This SUV will sit between the Venue and Creta. Ahead of the launch, Hyundai has revealed all its details. With this announcement, Hyundai Bayon bookings (online & offline) are open at Rs. 11,000. Deliveries are expected to begin close to Diwali. Here’s what you can expect.
Hyundai Bayon Details Revealed
First up, Hyundai has revealed the official images of the India-spec Bayon. It looks similar to the international model; however, the Indian version looks sharper, with stronger body lines. Overall, though, the Bayon resembles a bigger, more premium Exter. Hyundai previously confirmed the Bayon measures 4.2 m long. It is based on the updated K2 platform.

Engine Specs
Hyundai has confirmed the India-spec Bayon will be powered by Creta’s 1.5-litre 4-cylinder NA petrol engine (113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque), with six-speed manual and iVT gearbox options. Though not officially confirmed yet, the same engine will reportedly also be available with the brand’s factory-fitted underbody CNG setup. This could make the Bayon the first Hyundai SUV in India (over four metres long) to get a CNG powertrain. We expect confirmation closer to or at the Bayon’s launch.

Hyundai Bayon Features Revealed
Based on the information revealed, the Bayon will be quite a feature-loaded model. The interior highlight will be a dual curved panoramic display, housing the infotainment screen and driver’s display (12.3-inch each). Here’s a list of all the other features on the Bayon:
- Generative AI voice assistant, powered by Perplexity and SoundHound AI (designed to understand conversational requests)
- Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC)
- Over-the-air (OTA) updates
- Hyundai Bluelink (with up to 70 connected car features)
- Multi-language user interface, supporting 10 regional and two international languages and over 500 embedded voice commands (works even without internet connectivity)
Features like a panoramic sunroof, Level-2 ADAS, rear AC vents, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a Bose audio system, and a 360-degree camera are also expected.

Expected Price
A detailed, variant-wise feature list will be out on 26th October. As for the price, we expect it to be priced somewhere in the Rs. 10-18 lakh range (on-road, Mumbai).
