PM Modi spoke to Congress President Kharge after pacemaker surgery and inquired about his health. Kharge can start work from October 3 and will address a rally in Kohima on 7 October.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and inquired about his health. He also wished him to recover soon. On X, PM Modi wrote, “Talked to Kharge ji. Asked about his health and wished him to recover soon. I pray for his good health and long life.”

Kharge, who has recently underwent pacemaker implantation surgery, is said to be stable and it is expected that he will resume his official work from October 3, his son and IT minister of Karnataka said Priyank Kharge. On X, he said, “The process of pacemaker implantation for Mr. Kharge was successfully completed today. It was a small and minor process and his condition is stable after the process. Hopefully he will resume his work from October 3 and will be involved in all his fixed programs. We are grateful for all the concerns, support and affection shown by all.”
A day earlier, Mallikarjun Kharge, president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru for treatment. Meanwhile, Kharge is scheduled to visit Kohima on 7 October and will address a public meeting at Naga Solidarity Park. Lok Sabha MP and Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President S Supangmerran Jamir made this announcement during a press conference at Congress Bhavan in Kohima.
