Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: Young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who created a sensation by playing explosive innings for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, has been included in the Indian T20 team. Amidst this huge success and fame at the international level at a very young age, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a sensitive and big decision. Along with Vaibhav Suryavanshi, two special people will also travel with Team India on the upcoming tour of England and Ireland.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is very young at this time. It can be mentally challenging for any child to handle the sudden popularity, media attention and immense pressure from the senior team at the age of just 15. In such a situation, BCCI has decided that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s parents will also travel with Team India on the upcoming tour of England and Ireland. The presence of parents on foreign tours will give Vaibhav a homely environment and he will not feel alone. At the same time, it will help in adjusting to the new circumstances of foreign tour.
Similarly, when Sachin Tendulkar went to Pakistan to make his debut for India in 1989, his elder brother Ajit went with him. At that time Sachin Tendulkar was only 16 years old. In such a situation, BCCI has taken this big step for Vaibhav Suryavanshi also. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia told Sportstar, ‘He is a child, so we have decided to allow his parents to go with him to Ireland and England, so that they can be with him and help him adapt to the new environment. The board will bear all their expenses.

Let us tell you, BCCI has implemented strict rules regarding the presence of family for the foreign tours and long tournaments of the Indian cricket team. Players cannot accompany their family or spouse during the entire tour. If a series or tournament is longer than 45 days, family members can stay with the player only for 14 days. But for Vaibhav Suryavanshi, BCCI has changed the rules.
Opportunity to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been selected in the Indian team at the age of 15 years and 71 days. If he gets a place in the playing eleven, he will become the youngest Indian cricketer to play international cricket. Earlier, when Sachin Tendulkar was selected in the team, his age was 16 years and 194 days. Sachin made his international debut in his very first tour. Now Vaibhav may also get a similar opportunity.
