Antonio Gracias, 55, is the founder and CEO of Chicago-based private equity firm Valor Equity Partners. He was born in Detroit city of America. His father’s roots were from Goa, hence he is considered to be of Indian origin. He studied International Finance and Economics at Georgetown University and later earned a law degree from the University of Chicago. Today, Valor Equity Partners manages more than $55 billion in assets and has investments in major companies such as SpaceX, Neuralink, Reddit and Anduril.
Elon Musk was given help of 1 million dollars
The friendship between Elon Musk and Antonio Gracias is more than two decades old. In the early days of Tesla, the company was going through a serious financial crisis and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Stake value may reach Rs 8.5 lakh crore after IPO
SpaceX can be listed in the stock market on June 12, 2026 at a valuation of around $1.75 trillion. At this valuation, the value of Gracias’ stake is being estimated at around $90 billion. In Indian currency this amount is approximately Rs 8.5 lakh crore. If SpaceX’s market value reaches $2 trillion, the value of their stake could exceed $140 billion.
Side by side with Musk during Tesla’s difficult times
Antonio Gracias was not only an investor, but also stood by Musk during Tesla’s most difficult times. In 2018, when Tesla was struggling to increase Model 3 production, Gracias worked day and night with Max at the factory. According to reports, both of them sometimes slept in the factory premises so that production related problems could be resolved quickly. Gracias later described it as the most difficult professional experience of his life.
Musk invested money in almost every big company
Gracias did not only invest in SpaceX and Tesla. He also invested money in many Musk-related companies like SolarCity, Neuralink and The Boring Company.
