Buchi Babu Sana wrote in her statement that the purpose of cinema is to entertain and inspire, not to make anyone uncomfortable. He said, “As a filmmaker, I believe the purpose of cinema is to entertain, inspire and connect with the audience. It should never make anyone feel uncomfortable or disrespected. If any part has been taken in the wrong way then we respect that and sincerely apologize.”

The main reason for the controversy is the objections raised regarding the character of Jhanvi Kapoor in the film. A section of the audience described some scenes as uncomfortable and inappropriate.
