Dengue Strikes! Vijay Deverakonda Hospitalized, Kingdom Release Plans Affected?

Popular Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda has apparently been hospitalized because of dengue, according to a recent report by Instagram handle ‘Entertainment AF’. The portal says that Vijay should be back home by July 20. However, the actor or his team has yet to come up with any official confirmation or denial of these reports.

Health Concerns Ahead of Kingdom’s Release

The health shock comes at a sensitive time for Vijay, who is in preparation for the release of his highly awaited spy action thriller, Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film, featuring Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev, has a scheduled theatrical release on July 31. Kingdom is produced under the banners Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas and will prove to be a high-energy commercial entertainer.

Initially set to release on March 30, the movie went through delays during its production phase, delaying its release date. Interestingly enough, reports have indicated that the Hindi version of Kingdom could possibly bypass a theatrical release entirely. As per 123 Telugu, Netflix, which originally had an arrangement in place with the makers, was allegedly compelled to release the film early in theatres. Yet, logistical issues and the rule of eight weeks between theatrical releases and OTT releases have prompted the team to consider a direct digital release on Netflix for Indian audiences. An official confirmation is still pending.
