Mirzapur: The Movie brings the trademark Purvanchali flavours with guns, gangsters and a bloody battle for the throne. After three successful seasons on Amazon Prime Video, the film adaptation presents a modified story. Ahead of its release, Shweta Tripathi spoke to Zoom about the censor board’s role in the final edit of the film. According to recent reports, the CBFC suggested some modifications and a portion of intimate scenes were also removed. Shweta clarified that the changes haven’t affected the ‘ras‘ of Mirzapur: The Movie.

In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Shweta, who plays Golu Gupta in , said the team behind the film respects the CBFC’s decisions and implemented the suggested modifications.
Shweta said, “Chahiye ek organisation ho ya institution ho, unki ek zimmedari hoti hai and bina unki side samjhe, hume comment nahi karna chahiye. Jaise hum kaam kar rahe hain, waise voh bhi apna kaam kar rahe hain. Agar unhone kuch seconds ke changes they have suggested, I don’t know detail mein kya hua hai, voh film ko benefit hui hai. Kuch interesting cheezein hui hai.”

She added, “Agar aapke saamne obstacles hain, toh aap way out figure kar loge. Joh unhone bola, joh valid tha, Mirzapur ke makers ne usmein se rasta dhundh liya which works. Tandem mein saath mein kaam hona chahiye. Hum respect karte hai joh voh kehte hai kyunki uska ek kaaran hai. We respected that and made the changes. Film has not changed at all. Mirzapur mein aisa kuch nahi hua jisse uska namak, mirch, masala kam hua hai. Mirzapur ka joh ras hai, voh pura milega.”
CBFC changes to Mirzapur: The Movie
The final runtime of Mirzapur: The Movie is 197.19 minutes, that is 3 hours, 17 minutes and 19 seconds. The film will feature the original cast of Mirzapur season 1, including , Divyenndu, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Harshita Shekhar Gaur.
The other cast members are Mohitt Maalik, Pramod Pathak, Sonal S. Chauhan, Anangsha Biswas, Shaji Chaudhary, Satendra Soni, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Sushant Singh.
