Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday inaugurated Guldasta- 2023, a first of its kind cultural gathering organized in collaboration with Punjabi Film and TV Actors Association (PFTAA) for the families of police employees. During this, while addressing the people, Chief Minister Mann said that the objective of this important initiative is to ensure the well-being of the families of Punjab Police personnel.
CM Mann said that Punjab Police soldiers perform their duty with full devotion and this function is dedicated to the families of these brave soldiers. CM thanked PFTAA for its cooperation in organizing this function at PAP Ground.
Glorious legacy of Punjab Police
The Chief Minister said that when it comes to selfless service towards the country, Punjab Police has a wonderful legacy. He said that the families of police employees have to face a lot of trouble because a person doing police duty is unable to find time for his family. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the purpose of this gathering is to provide an opportunity to the families of police employees to sit together and enjoy the gathering.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that 80 thousand police personnel are doing their duty with full devotion to ensure restful sleep to more than three crore people of the state. Bhagwant Mann said that ever since he took over, his government has been paying special attention towards the renewal of the police force.
focus on modernization
CM Mann said that attention is being given to modernization of the police force on the scientific path, and the use of Artificial Intelligence is also being encouraged. CM said that earlier also such a function was being organized in Mumbai, in which Bollywood actors used to participate. He said that now the state government has taken this initiative to ensure the well-being of the police force. Bhagwant Mann said that as the head of the state, his government is committed to the welfare of every section of the society including farmers, traders, weaker sections, employees and the police force.
Film stars will also participate
He expressed happiness that the relatives of the police personnel and even the police personnel themselves participated in the event. He said that this is another step towards creating Rangla Punjab where every section of the society will walk on the path of prosperity, peace and progress. While congratulating the police force, Bhagwant Mann expressed hope that in the coming time, film stars will also participate in this event.

CM said that concrete efforts are being made by the state government for women empowerment. He said that women officers are posted as senior police captains in many districts of the state and there are women deputy commissioners in more than 10 districts. Bhagwant Mann said that concrete efforts are being made for the welfare of girls in the state and meaningful results are emerging from these efforts.

He said that the state government has approved to start the recruitment process of 1450 more police personnel in the state. Bhagwant Mann said that its objective is to make the youth equal partners in the socio-economic development of the state. He said that the recruitment of 1450 police personnel in the police will make the functioning of the force more smooth at the district level and will be helpful in maintaining law and order in the state as well as in cracking down on anti-social elements.
training for competitive exams
The Chief Minister also said that the state government is opening eight ultra-modern centers to train students for competitive examinations. He said that this center will provide standard training to the youth to pass the UPSC examination and achieve prestigious positions in the state and country. He said that the aim of the state government is to prepare the youth for higher positions, so that they can serve the country.
Check handed over to the families of martyrs
On this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over ex-gratia grant checks to the families of police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He also honored the members of PFTAA and released the song Ardaas written by ADGPMF Farooqui and sung by famous singer Master Salim. Earlier, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries to the function.
