Actor-comedian Krushna Abhishek has asked the paparazzi to avoid questions about his uncle Govinda and the latter’s reported marital issues with Sunita Ahuja, saying he does not want his family’s personal matters to become a source of publicity.
Krushna was spotted at Mumbai airport on Monday morning with his The Great Indian Kapil Show co-star Kiku Sharda as the duo travelled to Udaipur for an event.
When photographers attempted to ask him about Govinda and the ongoing attention surrounding the actor’s relationship with Sunita, Krushna requested them to keep the conversation light.
“Masti ke sawal poochhna, mama ka koi sawal mat poochhna. Maine dekha bahut footage lag raha hai hamare ghar ki baat par se,” he said, asking the paparazzi to stick to fun questions and refrain from discussing his uncle.
Krushna’s remarks come amid renewed public attention on Govinda and Sunita’s reported strained relationship. The issue gained attention after Sunita publicly questioned Govinda’s closeness with his upcoming film co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar.
Sunita had earlier alleged that Govinda was having an affair with the actress, who is considerably younger than him, and subsequently took a dig at the actor while reacting to his appearance with Komal, referring to him as a “sugar daddy”.
Govinda later responded to the allegations and warned Sunita about the consequences of continuing to make statements that he considered defamatory. His manager Shashi Sinha also denied reports that the actor was planning to marry Komal Rani Swarnkar.
The reported marital discord had also been linked to divorce proceedings. Sunita was reported to have filed for divorce from Govinda amid allegations of infidelity. However, on August 19, Govinda’s manager confirmed that she had withdrawn the divorce petition.
The development followed fresh speculation after Sunita was seen at a family court with the couple’s son, Yashvardhan Ahuja.
Govinda has also recently issued a public notice warning against the circulation of what he described as false or defamatory material concerning him and his family, with reports indicating that legal action could follow.
Meanwhile, Krushna and Kiku were dressed casually for their trip. Krushna wore a black hoodie with white trousers, black-and-green sneakers and tinted sunglasses, while Kiku opted for a denim-on-denim outfit with black shoes.
