Babar Azam leaves the captaincy of Pakistan, decision after the team's embarrassment in the World Cup

Babar Azam has left the captaincy of the Pakistan cricket team after the team’s poor performance in the World Cup 2023. Babar issued a statement on Wednesday 15 November and announced his decision to step down from the captaincy of the team in all formats. Babar Azam was made the captain of the Pakistani team for the first time in 2019 and in 2021 he became the captain in all three formats.
