One of the major religious texts of Hinduism, Garuda Purana describes the fate and punishment of the soul in detail after death. It states that a person who sin in his life is sent to hell after death.
According to Garuda Purana, there are 36 types of hell, where the soul is given various terrible tortures according to its sins.

Tamisra Hell: Those who cheat for wife or money are put into darkness.
Blind Hell: People who belong to other women or men are tortured by hungry and thirsty.
Raurav Narak: Those who hurt innocent people are killed by poisonous snakes.
Mahaurav Narak: Those who burn and eat others are burnt in fire.
Crow hell: The oppressors are put in pieces by crows and owls.
Kutsalmali hell: Those who lie are hung on prickly trees.
Hell a pit: Those who boast of their knowledge are thrown into the pit of darkness.
Abichi Hell: Juts are thrown down from the burning mountain.
Hot hell: Those who commit feticide are pierced with warm needles.
Sanhatha Hell: People who encroach on the land are punished and punished by tearing their bodies.
Hell of Ishaninda: Rapes are punished with burning iron.
Sughorm hell: Those who do wrong things are thrown into boiling oil.
Mahapatak Hell: Those who cheat the Guru eat insects.

The principle of rebirth and 8.4 million vagrants
It has also been said in the Garuda Purana that a man not only has to bear the pain of hell, but he has to be born again and again in 84 million vaginas-such as animals, birds, insects, aquatic organisms, plants etc. This birth is also considered a type of punishment for the soul.
