Bollywood’s leading actresses have long commanded hefty paychecks. Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have reportedly been charging over Rs 15 crore per film for several years.
Deepika is said to have received more than Rs 20 crore for her special role in “Raaka,” starring Allu Arjun, while reports suggest that Priyanka Chopra is being paid between Rs 25 crore and Rs 30 crore for Rajamouli’s upcoming film “Varanasi.”
Actresses such as Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon are also believed to charge around Rs 15 crore per project. In comparison, South Indian actresses have traditionally earned lower remuneration.
Until now, Nayanthara has been regarded as the highest-paid South Indian actress, reportedly charging between Rs 9 crore and Rs 12 crore, depending on the project.
However, Rashmika Mandanna may have set a new benchmark.
According to industry buzz, she has received a whopping Rs 15 crore for a Hindi film. The actress is said to have landed this massive paycheck for “Cocktail 2,” which is slated for release soon.
Following the blockbuster success of “Animal,” “Pushpa 2” and “Chhaava” in the Hindi market, Rashmika has significantly strengthened her position in Bollywood.
With producers increasingly viewing her as a dependable choice for big-budget films, reports suggest that her market value has soared, making her one of the most sought-after actresses in Indian cinema today.
