New Delhi: Tempers flared at the Dubai International Stadium as Team India star Abhishek Sharma clashed with Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf during the Super 4 clash between the two sides in the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, September 21. Abhishek and Rauf were involved in a heated exchange during India’s run chase in the match.
Abhishek opened the batting with Shubman Gill for India in their 172-run chase against Pakistan in the Super 4 encounter. The swashbuckling left-hander got India off to a flyer as he went after the Pakistani bowlers from the word go. Abhishek batted in his usual style and smashed the Pakistani bowlers all around the park, taking them to the cleaners.
The incident took place after the final delivery of the 5th over of India’s innings when Gill smashed Rauf for a boundary. The Indian vice-captain shouted a few words at the Pakistan pacer, who responded. Abhishek then got involved in a fiery exchange with Rauf, and the two players had to be separated by the on-field umpire as things got heated up in the middle.
