Allari Naresh is back where he is most comfortable- comedy. But this time, he is entering a rather unusual world with Ramba Oorvasi Menaka, a fantasy entertainer.
Directed by Chandra Mohan Chintada and produced by Razesh Danda and Nimmakayala Prasad under Annapurna Studios and Hasya Movies, the film’s teaser has been unveiled.
The story revolves around a mysterious family magic book. Drawing a particular rangoli on its cover can bring Ramba, Oorvasi and Menaka from Indra Lokam into the human world.
After repeatedly attempting the ritual for 25 years, his wish finally comes true. But summoning three celestial beauties turns out to be much easier than dealing with them.
The teaser makes it clear that Allari Naresh is in familiar territory. His expressions, comic timing and effortless dialogue delivery fit the character perfectly. The rural backdrop also plays to his strengths, giving the humour a distinctly native flavour.
Surabhi is paired with him as the leading lady, while Vennela Kishore appears as Indra, Naresh VK as Naresh’s father. Rashi Singh, Vishnupriya and Prisha Singh, as the celestial beauties, bring the required charm to the fantasy world.
Cinematographer Raam Reddy handles both worlds effectively, while art director Brahma Kadali gives the fantasy portions the necessary scale. Chaitan Bharadwaj’s energetic music complements the proceedings.
Rather than taking the fantasy concept too seriously, the teaser embraces its comic potential. The result is an entertainer that appears to be designed around Allari Naresh’s strongest asset, making the audience laugh.
Ramba Oorvasi Menaka is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on September 4.
