JoSAA Counseling Registration Date 2026: Registration will start from June 2, choices can be filled till June 11
According to the schedule released by JoSAA, the process of registration and choice filling will start from 5 pm on June 2, 2026. Candidates will be able to select the institute and course of their choice till 11 June 2026. Experts say that instead of rushing during choice filling, candidates should fill the choices keeping in mind the previous years’ cutoff, their rank and preferred branch.
JoSAA mock seat allotment list will come twice, you will get a chance to improve your strategy
JoSAA will release two mock seat allotments to give students an opportunity to better assess their choices in the counseling process. The first mock seat allotment list will be released on 8 June 2026 and the second mock seat allotment list will be released on 10 June 2026. The first list will be prepared on the basis of choices filled till June 7. With the help of these mock results, students will be able to understand which seats they are likely to get based on the current options and can change their preferences if needed.
JoSAA Counseling 2026: First seat allotment result will come on June 13
The seat allotment result of the first round of JoSAA Counseling 2026 will be released on June 13. After this the selected candidates will have to complete the process of online reporting, document uploading and seat acceptance. The last date for depositing fees for students who got seats in the first round has been fixed as June 26, 2026.

Which students will get the chance for admission in IIT?
As per JoSAA rules only those candidates who have been successful in securing a rank in JEE Advanced 2026 can participate in the seat allotment process in IITs. However, candidates qualifying JEE Main for admission to NITs, IIITs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) can also appear for JoSAA counselling. It will be mandatory for all eligible students to do online choice filling.
