Mumbai (Maharashtra) [भारत]July 30 (ANI): Actress and Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) president Poonam Dhillon has urged producers to work directly with the association while casting actors. He said the move would help in creating more employment opportunities for CINTAA members and reduce the role of middlemen in the recruitment process.
Talking about the initiative, Dhillon appealed to producers to send their casting requirements to CINTAA. He said the association would provide actors without taking any commission from producers or actors. “Today, I would like to appeal to all the producers that if you need an actor, please send your requirements to CINTAA. Without taking any commission, and without charging anything from the actors or you, we will try to provide you with the best actors. We have many actors registered with us.”
CINTAA’s new casting initiative
He also said that CINTAA has recently launched its own casting initiative to help its members get more work. Calling it a “proactive effort”, Dhillon shared that the association has also created a dedicated portal for manufacturers. “Recently, CINTAA has also started casting so that our members can get more work opportunities. This is something we are actively trying to do. We have also created a portal for producers.”
Direct connection between actors and producers
Talking about creating a “direct relationship” between actors and producers, Dhillon requested filmmakers to share all their casting needs with CINTAA. He said the association will try its best to provide suitable actors for every role, while also ensuring that middlemen do not take undue advantage of the artistes. “I would request all the producers to please share your requirements with us, whether you are a newcomer, an established actor or need an actor for a particular role. We will try our best to help you. This will help us create a direct relationship between actors and producers, so that middlemen cannot take undue advantage in between.”
Last year, in a conversation with ANI, Dhillon, who is also the chairperson of CINTAA, had talked about the struggles faced by many small artistes in the industry and the need to create better work opportunities for them. (ANI)
