New Delhi [भारत]July 30 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth on Thursday reiterated the government’s commitment to building a self-reliant defense ecosystem. He said the resolution is to make India a developed nation by 2047 and transform the Indian Air Force into the most powerful air force in the world through indigenous capabilities and innovation.
Priest of peace, but will give a befitting reply to the attack on sovereignty
Addressing journalists at a defense sector event, Seth said India has always believed in peace and the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, but is ready to give a strong response to any challenge to its sovereignty and security. Seth said, “India’s culture teaches us peace and welfare of humanity. But when someone tries to threaten us through terrorism or casts an evil eye on the country, we also know how to respond in the spirit of Lord Shiva’s Tandava.”
Self-reliant India will make Air Force the most powerful
Highlighting the importance of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in the defense sector, the Minister said the country’s resolve is to make the Indian Air Force one of the most powerful air forces in the world through indigenous capabilities. He said, “Today the world is looking towards India. It is not just a dream, but a resolve and determination that will never remain unfulfilled.”
Important role of defense industries, startups and academics
Seth stressed the important role of defense industries, startups, academia and the armed forces in building future military capabilities. He said, “A soldier fighting on the border is never alone. The story of his victory is written in your factories. The technology we develop today will decide the strength of our forces tomorrow.”
He urged defense manufacturers and innovators to focus on future warfare requirements and emerging technologies, saying delays in acquiring critical technologies could impact national security. Seth said, “The world is moving very fast. We cannot be satisfied with what we have achieved; we have to keep moving forward.”
Praising India’s startup ecosystem, Seth said that Indian entrepreneurs can compete with the best entrepreneurs in the world. He said, “Our startups are no less than any startup globally. The energy and talent of India’s youth will play a decisive role in building the future.”
Drawing attention to the unique spirit of the Indian Armed Forces, Seth said, “The world teaches us that 1+1 is two, but for the Indian Army, 1+1 is eleven. It is the power of teamwork, commitment and determination.”
Target of developed India by 2047
The minister also highlighted the need to increase the contribution of the manufacturing sector to India’s GDP and said innovation in defense will strengthen the country’s economic and strategic position.
Referring to India’s recent achievements in infrastructure, technology and defence, Seth said the country has seen remarkable progress and should maintain the same pace.
He said that the youth of India is carrying the dream of a developed India by 2047 and will play an important role in shaping the future of the country. Seth said, “The innovations you do today will be remembered by the coming generations. The country stands with you, and 140 crore Indians stand with you.” (ANI)
