Designer Isha Jajodia presented ‘Roseroom’ collection at India Couture Week which featured beautiful lace and floral work. Whereas, Rimjhim Dadu caught everyone’s attention by presenting her ‘Inlay’ collection inspired by Mughal inlay art. Both of them showed Indian crafts in a new style.
India Couture Week continues to celebrate the artistry of Indian craftsmanship. On Sunday evening, collections of designers Isha Jajodia and Rimjhim Dadu were shown.
Isha Jajodia’s ‘Roseroom’ collection
At the Taj Palace in New Delhi, Isha Jajodia’s ‘Roseroom’ collection featured a layering of Chantilly, corded and guipure lace; Applique was set into the base, giving the flowers a three-dimensional look, and transparencies were decorated with pearls and Swarovski crystals. This season the house also incorporated clay into its designs, which was hand-molded into floral motifs and sculptural details and set in lace. Models walked the ramp wearing corseted gowns, skirts, sarees, tailored jackets, tuxedos and tulle skirts. Furthermore, the color palette started with ivory and blush hues, moving on to emerald, teal, ruby, scarlet and golden hues.
Speaking about it, Isha Jajodia, Founder and Creative Director, ‘Roseroom’ shared as per a press release, “This collection is about the woman who wears it. She has lived enough life to know that softness is never weakness, grace can be powerful, and weakness and resilience can exist in the same breath.”
Rimjhim Dadu’s ‘Inlay’ collection
Meanwhile, designer Rimjhim Dadu unveiled her latest couture collection ‘INLAE’, which takes inspiration from the precision of Mughal inlay work. Taking inspiration from age-old inlay traditions and traditional stone-setting techniques, ‘Inlay’ interprets craft practices through the language of contemporary fashion. The collection included Rimjhim Dadu’s signature structured sarees, sculptural fringe skirts, cropped bandhgalas and tailored bombers.
