Hyundai i20 has reached a major milestone in India, with cumulative sales crossing 15 lakh units. The premium hatchback continues to be one of Hyundai’s most successful models in the country, thanks to its sporty design, feature-loaded cabin and practical performance. It is currently priced from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and offers an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of up to 20kmpl.

Hyundai Motor India has announced that the i20 has crossed 1.5 million cumulative sales in the Indian market. Despite intense competition in the premium hatchback segment, the model has remained a popular choice among young buyers, urban commuters and families. Regular updates, low maintenance costs and a strong feature list have helped the i20 maintain its popularity over the years.
Design, features and safety
Hyundai i20 measures 3,995mm in length, 1,775mm in width and 1,505mm in height, featuring LED headlamps, a cascading grille, 16-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. Inside, it gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, cruise control, push-button start and a sunroof on select variants.
On the safety front, the hatchback comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard.

Powering the Hyundai i20 is a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine producing up to 87bhp and 114.7Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox and an iVT automatic transmission. The hatchback delivers an ARAI-certified mileage of up to 20kmpl, while real-world fuel efficiency typically ranges between 15kmpl and 18kmpl, depending on driving conditions.
