Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced that Mizoram will get ₹120 crore under the Centre’s FASPHI scheme in 2026-27. This amount is being given to strengthen the public health infrastructure of the state and improve medical facilities.

Aizawl (Mizoram), July 27 (ANI): Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Monday announced that Mizoram will get Rs 120 crore from the Center under the Financial Assistance to States/UTs for Public Health Infrastructure (FASPHI) scheme during the financial year 2026-27.

Addressing the gathering, Lalduhoma said that the project proposal worth Rs 120 crore has already been approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The Ministry is expected to send this approved proposal to the Finance Ministry for release of funds.

Allocation received on the basis of performance

The Chief Minister said the FASPHI scheme has earmarked Rs 4,200 crore for states and union territories during 2026-27, with Mizoram allocated Rs 120 crore based on its performance under the prescribed indicators of the scheme.

Aim to improve health services

Lalduhoma said the performance-based assistance is aimed at strengthening public health infrastructure and improving health service delivery in the state. He said the financial assistance will enable the government to expand medical facilities and implement major health infrastructure projects.

The Chief Minister also expressed confidence that this funding will significantly contribute to improving the quality and accessibility of health services across Mizoram.
