India’s Gyaneshwari Yadav has done wonders in the Commonwealth Games. Dnyaneshwari Yadav won silver medal in 53 kg category. This athlete from Chhattisgarh got a place in the Commonwealth Games team for the first time and she performed brilliantly in her debut itself and won the silver medal. Dnyaneshwari Yadav won the silver medal by lifting a total weight of 199 kg. Dnyaneshwari lifted 88 kg weight in snatch and in clean and jerk she did wonders by lifting 111 kg weight. Story of Dnyaneshwari Yadav
Dnyaneshwari Yadav is from Bhondiya village in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. He is an Assistant Sub-Inspector in Chhattisgarh Police. His father himself was a bodybuilder but he had to leave this sport to support his family. He works as an electrician and worked hard to make his daughter a weightlifter. In an interview, Dnyaneshwari’s father Deepak Yadav had told that he worked 20-20 hours to make his children athletes.

Dnyaneshwari Yadav’s career suffered a major setback due to Covid when her father did not even have money to buy supplements for her. But Deepak Yadav bought supplements for his daughter by borrowing from his friends and relatives. Somehow Dnyaneshwari continued her training and diet.
The fair changed Dnyaneshwari’s life
When Dnyaneshwari Yadav was in 7th class, she went to a fair, where she saw children doing weightlifting. First he started powerlifting. In just one year, he started doing 65 kg squat and 95 kg deadlift with just 37 kg body weight. He won gold in powerlifting in the sub-junior nationals and after that his father Deepak Yadav decided to make him a weightlifter. Dnyaneshwari started training under coach Ajay Lohar Vishwakarma and after that Dnyaneshwari never looked back.

Dnyaneshwari’s achievements
- Dnyaneshwari won the silver medal in the Junior World Championship in Greece in the year 2022.
- In 2023, he won Junior, Senior Gold and Best Junior Lifter award in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.
- He won the gold medal in the National Games held in 2025.
- She won the silver medal in the Asian Championships in 2026 and now she has been successful in winning the silver medal in the Commonwealth Games also.
