New NFO launch of SBI Mutual Fund
Choosing the right shares amidst the continuous ups and downs in the stock market is always a difficult task for common investors. Especially in the midcap segment, where along with the risk, the scope for excellent returns is maximum. Understanding this need of investors, the country’s largest fund house SBI Mutual Fund has launched its new Fund of Funds (FoF) today, 27 July 2026. This new scheme has been named ‘SBI Nifty Midcap 150 Momentum 50 ETF Fund of Funds’. This is an open-ended scheme.
How will this investment scheme work?
‘Momentum investing’ in the stock market means riding the wave of a rising market. This fund bets on those stocks which have performed best and strongest compared to their rivals in recent times. This scheme will not invest money directly in shares. Instead, 95 to 100 percent of the investors’ money will be invested in units of ‘SBI Nifty Midcap 150 Momentum 50 ETF’. This index is a basket of 50 fastest and strongest companies selected from Nifty Midcap 150. At the same time, to maintain liquidity, 0 to 5 percent of the fund will be kept in secured government securities (G-Secs), treasury bills and liquid mutual funds.
Start your investment journey with just Rs 5,000
This new NFO of SBI Mutual Fund has opened for subscription from today. Investors will be able to invest their money in this special scheme till 05 August 2026. Taking entry in this fund has been kept very easy. You can start with a minimum lump sum investment of just Rs 5,000. After this, any amount can be deposited in multiples of Re 1. Apart from this, for those who want to invest small amounts regularly, there is also a great facility of SIP. According to their convenience, investors can easily choose the option of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly SIP.
Enjoy direct benefits of ETF without demat account
Generally, to invest in any ETF, it is mandatory to have a demat and trading account, which becomes a major hurdle for many new investors. But the biggest feature of this scheme is its ‘Fund of Funds’ structure. This means that investors who do not have a demat account can also invest in this scheme like any normal mutual fund. The fund house has handed over the responsibility of managing this important scheme to experienced fund manager Viral Chhadva. Viral has been associated with SBI since December 2020 and is successfully managing many passive funds of the company.
