Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka launched the Environment Protection and Disaster Management Campaign. Calling for water conservation, tree plantation and giving up single use plastic, he warned about future water crisis.
Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka has given a big message regarding nature and water conservation. He said that climate change, rising temperature, pollution and water crisis are the biggest challenges of the coming years. If effective steps are not taken now, Chhattisgarh may also face serious water crisis in future. For this purpose, he launched the ‘Environment Protection and Disaster Management’ national campaign of Brahma Kumari Divine University.
Awareness campaign will run from Raipur to Jabalpur
The Governor flagged off the Brahma Kumari sisters and brothers involved in the campaign. This expedition will travel from Raipur to Jabalpur from 26 July to 9 August 2026. During this period, messages of environmental protection, water saving, disaster management and public awareness will be given in various areas of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

Emphasis on water conservation and plastic free life
The Governor said that this is not just a yatra but a campaign of public awareness. Through this, people will be motivated to plant trees, rain water harvesting, conserve traditional water sources and adopt plastic free lifestyle. Expressing concern over the increasing threat of microplastics, he said that its impact has reached human health, hence the need of the hour is to reduce the use of single-use plastics.
Every person plants a tree, only then the future will be secure.
Ramen Deka said that it is not possible to completely prevent natural disasters, but their impact can be reduced with better preparation and effective disaster management. He appealed to the citizens to save every drop of water, plant at least one sapling and take care of it like a child. According to him, even a small step taken today for environmental protection can become a strong foundation for the safe future of the coming generations.
