Ashadha Purnima 2026 Date: In Hindu religion, the full moon date of Ashadha month is considered to have special religious and spiritual significance. This day is not only the last day of Ashadh month, but it is also celebrated with full devotion as Guru Purnima and Kokila Vrat. When is Ashadh Purnima in 2026?
According to Drik Panchang, Ashadh Purnima Tithi will start on July 28, 2026 at 6.18 pm. Whereas, Purnima Tithi will end on 29th July 2026 at 8:05 pm. Since Purnima Tithi will be present at the time of sunrise on 29th July, hence on the basis of Udaya Tithi, the festival of Ashadh Purnima will be celebrated on 29th July 2026.

What to do on Ashadh Purnima?
On the day of Ashadh Purnima, it is considered auspicious to wake up in the morning before sunrise and take bath. If it is not possible to go to any holy river or pilgrimage place and take bath, then one can take bath at home by mixing Ganga water in the bath water. After this, wear clean clothes and clean the place of worship and meditate on Lord Vishnu. Yellow flowers, sandalwood, basil leaves and fruits can be offered to Lord Vishnu. After this, light a ghee lamp and perform aarti of God and pray for your wishes. Chanting Vishnu Sahasranama or mantras of Lord Vishnu on this day is also considered auspicious.
Bathing and charity have special importance
The tradition of bathing and donating on Purnima Tithi is centuries old. According to religious belief, on this day it is auspicious to donate food, clothes, grains and money to needy people as per one’s capacity. Donation should always be done according to faith and capacity. On the day of Ashadh Purnima, feeding green fodder to a cow and providing food to a needy person is also considered virtuous.
