New Delhi/Patna: The student movement that started over the NEET paper leak has now taken the form of a major political and administrative conflict in Bihar. Security has reached an unprecedented level in the entire state amid the Bihar bandh called in support of CJP (Cockroach Janata Party), AISA and leftist student organizations. In many districts including the capital Patna, the situation is being monitored through heavy police force, drone surveillance, additional security companies and social media monitoring. The administration says that peaceful protests are allowed, but any attempt to create violence or disturb law and order will take immediate action. This Mahabandh has also received open support from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), VIP and other parties of the Grand Alliance, which has given sleepless nights to the administration.
Is Bihar Bandh just a protest or a sign of some major conflict?
After the call for Bihar Bandh, police are on high alert in many districts including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Gopalganj, Samastipur, Darbhanga and Shivhar. Additional security forces have been deployed in sensitive areas, while constant patrolling is being done at major intersections. In Motihari, the entire city is being monitored through drone cameras. Whereas in Sitamarhi, the police is reaching the hostels and talking to the students and advising them for peaceful protest. Officials have clearly said that if anyone tries to spread violence or disturb public order, strict legal action will be taken against him.

5 arrested, FIR continues…will the action increase further?
Bihar Bandh: Just before dawn, Patna Police took a very secret and major action. Late last night, heavy police force raided the residence of Male MLA Sandeep Saurabh and arrested him. According to ASP (Law and Order) Krishna Murari Prasad, 5 big leaders of AISA, including MLA Sandeep Saurabh, have been arrested for leading the violent protests and vandalism that took place in Patna on July 22. All of them have been hurriedly produced in the court and sent to jail. The police clearly say that those who incite violence from behind the scenes will not be spared and more arrests are certain to be made on the basis of video footage.

The most frightening effect of this movement has been seen in Muzaffarpur, where the administration has completely banned internet services in urban areas to stop rumours. Not only this, 24 major social media platforms have also been temporarily blocked. From Motihari to Gopalganj and Sitamarhi, plainclothes policemen are deployed at every sensitive intersection. Motihari SP Swarn Prabhat has warned that some YouTubers and so-called social organizations are conspiring to spoil the atmosphere in the guise of students, on whom the IT cell of the police is keeping a close watch.

Crackdown on Deputy Mayor Nazia Hasan in Darbhanga: Video of uprooting bamboo goes viral!
Another shocking news has come out from Darbhanga, where the police has registered an FIR under serious sections against Congress leader and Deputy Mayor Nazia Hasan. Case against 200 unknown people in Khagaul, 9 detained in Shivhar
ASP Ajit Kumar has taken a strict stand in the matter of taking out a procession from the DRM office to Jagat Narayan College without permission and gheraoing the police station in Khagaul, Danapur. Police have registered a case against 60 named and about 200 unidentified protesters.
