Bollywood celebrities like Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan and several others have shown solidarity with students protesting over the NEET paper leak. A few celebrities even participated in the Chalo Sansad march on July 20. Amid the ongoing student protests, Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, has revealed why she hasn’t spoken about them. In a video she shared on social media, Ira admitted that she ‘freaked out’ after watching a video of her cousin’s potential detention at one of the protests.

Taking to her official Instagram account , posted a video message revealing the reason she hasn’t spoken about the Cockroach Janata Party-led student protest. The star kid admitted that she didn’t have anything to say that was going to add to the conversation in any manner. The reason being she hasn’t had feelings about the student protests.
“That’s something I do actively with all news. I usually don’t look at it. I don’t go to my explore page, I have not seen any videos of violence or any videos of the protest. I know that they are happening and I know what is happening but I don’t let myself emotionally reach becuase it really bothers me,” she said.
Continuing on the same topic, Ira recalled receiving an Instagram reel about her cousin’s potential detention. “I got sent one reel and was told that my cousin was in it and she was potentially being detained at one of the protests and I freaked out. As soon as I realised that she was safe I went back to work.” Ira added that she didn’t say anything because she didn’t realise that her speaking up would make a difference.
“So, if me not speaking up at this point implied in any manner that I don’t care, then I am sorry that was not my intention,” she added. While sharing the video on her IG account, the star kid mentioned, “I see that being able to, being able to afford to… having the option at all to look away… is a privilege.”

Meanwhile, activist has ended his hunger strike. In a tweet he shared on his official X account, the activisit revealed that he broke his fast after 26 days after long negotiations were done on various conditions and in the view of possible violence in the country.
