NEET UG paper leak case accused Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar has withdrawn his bail plea. The CBI has alleged that Motegaonkar had paid Rs 5 lakh for leaking the Chemistry paper and distributed the paper to students.
New Delhi [भारत]July 23 (ANI): NEET UG paper leak case accused Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar withdrew his bail plea from the court on Thursday. After this the court rejected the bail application considering it withdrawn. The CBI has alleged that Motegaonkar is actively involved in a conspiracy to leak the Chemistry paper before the NEET UG exam 2026.
Accused withdrew bail application
The bail case was to be argued before special CBI judge Ajay Gupta on Thursday. Counsel for the applicant Motegaonkar filed an application for withdrawal of the present application. The lawyer argued that the applicant Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar does not want to insist on this application and it should be considered rejected without argument. Also, he sought exemption from filing new applications in future.
After the hearing, the court accepted the application. “Considering the submissions of the counsel for the applicant/accused, this application is dismissed as withdrawn,” the special judge ordered.
CBI claims – paper was bought for Rs 5 lakh
Earlier, opposing the bail plea, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had said that Latur-based coaching owner Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar was actively involved in the conspiracy. He had given Rs 5 lakh to Prahlad Kulkarni to get the Chemistry paper of NEET UG exam 2026. Motegaonkar runs a coaching institute named RCC Classes in Latur, Maharashtra. Kulkarni was a Chemistry paper setter appointed by NTA.
CBI alleges that Motegaonkar had given copies of the leaked examination papers to the students. He leaked the chemistry paper before the exam. The CBI had filed its reply on the bail plea of Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, which was pending before Special Judge Ajay Gupta of Rouse Avenue Court. The CBI has alleged that Motegaonkar is involved in leaking and distributing the question paper by conspiring with other accused.
CBI had told that this accused had received the Chemistry questions and answers of NEET 2026 on 23.04.2026, before the scheduled date of the examination. It was also told that the leaked question paper was found in the mobile phone of accused Shivraj Motegaonkar, who had also given the leaked question papers and answers to many people. On a question from the court, the investigating officer had said that there is a video in which he is seen saying that the questions he had given to the students were in the question paper. (ANI)
