According to the order issued by the Building Construction Department on Friday, the bungalow has been allotted in the name of Nand Kishore Ram. Along with this, preparations have also been started to install new VVIP nameplate on the bungalow, indicating its formal transfer.

Earlier, the department had issued an official notice to Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Council Rabri Devi and directed her to vacate the government residence located at 10 Circular Road. This bungalow holds special importance in the politics of Bihar. For years this residence was associated with former Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. It has been considered the main center of many important political meetings, strategic discussions and organizational activities of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

The government has instead allotted a new government bungalow to Rabri Devi in the posh Hardinge Road area of Patna. According to officials, this residence has been completely prepared in accordance with the facilities, security arrangements and government protocols provided to former Chief Ministers.
Sources in the Building Construction Department say that this decision is purely a part of the administrative process and has been taken under the prescribed rules related to allotment of government housing. According to the department, ministers are given graded government accommodation as per their post and under this process, the bungalow at 10 Circular Road has been allotted to Nand Kishore Ram.
