Why only donation of 33 Malpuas?
33 Malpuas are donated in Adhik Maas. It is believed that by donating 33 Malpuas in Adhik Maas, one gets the blessings of 33 crore Gods and Goddesses. Before donating, these Malpuas are offered to Lord Vishnu. While offering food to Lord Vishnu, the following mantra must be chanted-
Malpoopam madhuram divyaam ghrityuktaam manoharam.
Maya Niveditam Bhaktya Grihaan Purushottam.
Meaning- O Supreme Lord! I offer this sweet and divine Malpua with ghee to you with full devotion, please accept it.
When to donate Malpua?
Although Malpua can be donated any time in the month of Purushottam, but it is very auspicious to do this remedy on the Thursday coming in this month because Lord Vishnu is the lord of Thursday. Apart from this, Malpua should also be donated on Ekadashi and Purnima Tithi. Donating Malpua during these days is considered especially fruitful.
