On her way to office, a woman met an old man sitting on the roadside with a weighing machine. After getting the weight checked, the woman gave him more money than the fixed price. But, the old man’s honest response touched people’s hearts.
An Instagram user named Sapna Singh has shared this heart touching experience on social media. She wrote, ‘I cross this bridge every morning on my way to office. I see this uncle sitting there. But, often due to delay there is no time to stop. But today I left a little early and saw that he was installing his weighing machine.
He used to charge only Rs 5 for measuring the weight of a person. After standing at the machine, the woman gave him a Rs 100 note. But, he immediately tried to return that money. Sapna told, ‘He was repeatedly gesturing that it costs only Rs 5. He did not want to take even a single rupee more from his hard work. I smiled and asked him to keep the money. Then a slight smile appeared on his face. The woman further wrote that even when she was leaving from there, that smile was still on her face and that smile settled in her heart.
Sapna also said in her post, ‘Before anyone asks why I gave only Rs 100, let me tell you that that was the last note in my pocket. I did whatever I could do at that moment. Looking at it from another perspective, apart from me, I also gave money for the next 20 people. He ended his post by writing, ‘Kindness is not measured by money, but by the intention behind it.
