According to officials, the name of the deceased woman was Deepika and she was married to Hrithik 14 months ago. Family sources say that a demand for a Fortuner car and Rs 1 crore was made as dowry in the marriage. It is alleged that even after marriage, her in-laws were continuously demanding dowry from Deepika and harassing her.

Officials said that due to this continuous harassment, Deepika finally took this dreadful step. On the night of May 17, 2026, the woman allegedly jumped from the terrace. According to the police, Deepika had serious injuries on her body. On receiving information about the incident, police teams reached the spot and completed the Panchnama process. After this the body was sent for postmortem. According to officials, this case pertains to Jalpura village of Ecotech-3 police station area. The police have taken the deceased woman’s husband Hrithik and father-in-law Manoj into custody in connection with this crime.

Officials said that this action was taken after a formal complaint was lodged by the woman’s father. Now a case has been registered under relevant legal sections.

Police said in an official statement that the woman died of despair due to dowry-related harassment. The police statement said, “According to the information received, on the night of May 17, the said woman, fed up with dowry harassment, committed suicide by jumping from the terrace.” The statement further said that after receiving the information, police officers reached the spot, completed the necessary legal formalities and sent the body for postmortem examination.
