etched his name into the record books on Monday, May 18 by scoring his 14th Test century in the second Test match against Pakistan in Sylhet. The star wicketkeeper batters has scored the most number of centuries Bangladesh in Test cricket.

Big feat for Mushfiqur Rahim in Test cricket

It was Rahim’s 14th century in the longest format of the game. Interestingly, he is the top run-scorer for Bangladesh in Test cricket with 6,700 runs in 102 games.

 

While becoming the batter with most number of Test centuries for Bangladesh, Rahim surpassed  , who scored 13 tons in the format. Tamim Iqbal stands at the third place, with 10 centuries. It won’t be wrong to say that, Mushfiqur Rahim is one of the Bangladesh’s key batters across all formats. Th wicketkeeper batter has played a big role in the growth of Bangladesh in the world cricket.

Strong display from Bangladesh against Pakistan

Coming back to the second Test, Pakistan won the toss and opted bowl first. In the first innings, Bangladesh managed to post 278/10 powered by Litton Das’ heroic knock of 126 runs off 159 balls. Whereas, Mushfiqur Rahim managed to score only 23 runs off 64.

In response, Pakistan managed to post only 232 runs with  being top scorer with 68 runs off 84 balls. It was  and  ‘s great figures of 3/60 and 3/67 respectively which broke Pakistan’s batting line-up.

In the third innings, Bangladesh displayed a great effort, posting 390 runs powered with a solid 137 runs scored by Rahim  and half centuries from  (69) and  (52). Now, Pakistan needs to chase 437 runs in the last innings to win the Test match.
