Amit Shah launched the Next Gen CG Dial-112 service and 32 mobile forensic vans of Chhattisgarh Police in Raipur. Equipped with new technologies, this service will make police, medical and fire emergency assistance fast and effective.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the state-of-the-art ‘Next Gen CG Dial-112 service’ and mobile forensic van of Chhattisgarh Police at Mana Police Parade Ground in Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Assembly Speaker Raman Singh and many public representatives and senior police officers were present in this program. During the program, the Union Home Minister flagged off 400 modern Dial-112 vehicles and 32 mobile forensic vans.
New emergency service will be based on the theme ‘Ekke Number, Sabbo Bar’
This new service of Chhattisgarh government is based on the theme ‘Ekke Number, Sabbo Bar’. Through this, police, fire and medical services will be integrated and quick assistance will be provided to the citizens on a single number. Modern technologies like smartphone, GPS, wireless radio, PTZ camera, dash cam, mobile NVR and solar backup have been installed in 400 state-of-the-art vehicles included under the new Dial-112 service. With their help, live monitoring of the incident site, real-time tracking and fast communication can be ensured.
Emergency assistance will be available 24 hours, many digital mediums will be available
This modern service will operate 24×7. Features like GIS based monitoring, advanced vehicle tracking, SIP trunk technology and automatic caller location identification have been added to it. All 33 district coordination centers of the state have also been connected to this network. Citizens will also be able to get help through voice call, SMS, email, web portal, WhatsApp, chatbot and SOS-112 India app.
Investigation will be done at the spot using mobile forensic van.
Based on the theme ‘Science on Wheels- Towards Faster Justice’, 32 mobile forensic vans will help in making the crime investigation process faster and scientific. Launched with the objective of ’32 Vans – 32 Districts – One Resolution: Accurate Investigation, Speedy Justice’, this initiative will facilitate preliminary scientific investigation at the spot itself.
Costing around Rs 65 lakh per unit, these state-of-the-art vans are equipped with advanced facilities like scene preservation kit, evidence collection equipment, fingerprint detection system, narcotics test kit, digital forensic support, high quality photography system, ballistic testing kit and gunshot residue testing.
There will be improvement in both the quality and speed of investigation
Till now, it took a lot of time to transport the evidence from the crime scene to the laboratory, due to which there was a possibility of the evidence being affected. Besides, there was delay in receiving reports. Through the new mobile forensic van, preliminary investigation, evidence preservation, testing and digital documentation can be done at the spot itself. This will make the investigation process more transparent and effective and will speed up crime investigation.
Evidence based justice system will get a strong foundation
The state government aims to make scientific investigation accessible to the common people, strengthen evidence-based justice system and increase the role of forensic science in crime control. The government believes that with the operation of modern dial-112 service and mobile forensic van, the emergency services of the state will be strengthened, the quality of crime investigation will be better and people’s trust in law and order and justice system will be strengthened.
