Raipur News: Governor Ramen Deka met the trainee deputy collectors of 2025 batch and gave the message of service spirit, sensitivity, impartial decisions and working in connection with the public.
Raipur: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka has given a message to the new officers joining the administrative service that a government job is not just a post but a big opportunity to serve the people. He said that if the officers work with service spirit, honesty and sensitive thinking, only then the true benefits of the government schemes will reach the common people. The Governor said these things while meeting the trainee deputy collectors of the year 2025 batch of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) at Lok Bhavan in Raipur on Wednesday. These days all the officers are taking training at Chhattisgarh Administrative Academy, Nimora.
Trainee Deputy Collectors meet Governor
Trainee Deputy Collectors led by Director General of Administrative Academy TC Mahavar paid a courtesy call on Governor Ramen Deka. During this, the Governor interacted with all the officers and shared many important experiences and suggestions related to administrative service. Governor Ramen Deka said that becoming an administrative officer does not just mean getting a government post. It is also a big responsibility to serve the common people. He said that every officer should perform his responsibilities with complete honesty, integrity and sensitivity. Challenges come in every field, but every challenge also brings with it new opportunities. Therefore, it is important to take decisions with positive thinking in every situation.
The feeling of humanity should be visible in every decision – Governor
The Governor said that in any administrative decision, not only rules but also humanity should be reflected. He advised the officers that there must be ‘human touch’ in every work. He said that the real benefit of government schemes will be achieved only when officials understand the problems of the people and work sensitively to solve them.
Governor said- meet people, go to every village and understand the problems
The Governor told the trainee officers that they should not be limited to just the office. He advised that officers should visit their areas regularly, meet people directly in villages and cities and understand their problems firsthand. This will help in taking right decisions and will also strengthen public confidence.
‘Complete whatever work can be done immediately’
The Governor said that if any work is possible under the rules, it should be completed without delay. If for some reason some work cannot be done, then clear and transparent information must be given to the concerned person. This increases people’s trust in the administration and also reduces misunderstandings. Governor Ramen Deka said that a successful administrative officer is one who takes fair and logical decisions based on facts. He told the officials that every decision should be taken thoughtfully and keeping all the facts in mind. Maintaining impartiality in any matter is the biggest identity of administrative service.
Providing justice to the public is the first responsibility
The Governor said that the first duty of a public servant is to provide justice to the people. He appealed to the trainee officers to always work with the spirit that their decisions should make the lives of common people easier and they should get timely justice. The Governor said that today’s young officers will take charge of the administration of the state in the times to come. Therefore, they will have to continuously strengthen good governance, transparency and public trust through their work. This is the identity of a successful and responsible officer.

Governor Ramen Deka said that all the trainee officers are fortunate that they have got the opportunity to work in a peaceful, prosperous and culturally rich state like Chhattisgarh. He said that the people here are full of service, cooperation and belongingness. It is the responsibility of the officers to maintain this trust and live up to the expectations of the public.
