“We’ve always adored travelling by Indian railways, so when baby Alexander came along, we knew we wanted him to experience it too,” the couple said in the video.
Calling train travel convenient and reliable, they added, “Indian Railways remains an excellent way to travel between cities. Trains are mostly on time and easy to book using an app.”
The pair acknowledged that some railway stations could get crowded but said facilities such as elevators and porters made travelling easier, especially while carrying heavy luggage with an infant.
Hazel Lindsey said their son appeared to enjoy India’s energetic environment and easily adapted to travelling around different cities.
“He napped on the go in his carrier, whether in a tuk-tuk or whilst we were eating mutton biryani for dinner,” Lindsey said.
She also spoke about the attention their baby received from strangers throughout the journey.
“Everyone wants to say hello. You’ve got to be fine with complete strangers coming up to you and wanting a cuddle with the baby. We were fine with this, but it’s something you should consider if you plan a visit to India with a baby,” she added.
The couple further described India as “incredibly welcoming” for babies, saying restaurants often arranged small cribs for Alexander during dinner outings.
Internet reacts
The video quickly gained traction online, with many users praising India’s culture around children and families.
“It takes a village to raise a child. India is that village,” one user commented.
Another wrote, “Bringing cribs to the table is awesome.”
