Actress Saba Azad is set to appear in the comedy-drama series “Who’s Your Gynaec?” Season 2, where she plays the role of Dr. Vidushi Kothari. In a recent interview, she emphasized that the series aims to address topics often considered taboo.
She mentioned, “Season 1 sparked conversations on crucial issues like sex education and women’s health. Season 2 will continue this core idea. It is vital for society to have these discussions.”
When asked about the challenges faced by independent and ambitious women in today’s society, she responded that despite living in major cities, the reality remains patriarchal. “Women still have to work twice as hard to earn equal respect. Society quickly forms opinions on women’s decisions. Our social structure has traditionally centered around male success,” she stated.
Saba further explained, “In many parts of our country, women are still not allowed the freedom to work or make their own choices. This truth may not always be visible in urban areas, but it exists. Therefore, women must constantly prove themselves both professionally and at home. If they work, they face scrutiny; if they don’t, they are judged again.”
She believes that some boys are raised with the mindset that they are superior to women. When they encounter a strong and independent girl, their egos are often challenged. “The truth is, such men are not accustomed to seeing women as equals, which creates tension in relationships,” she concluded.
