Recently, the country’s first AI City has been approved in Lucknow’s Vrindavan Scheme at a cost of about Rs 368 crore. Apart from this, a special budget of Rs 225 crore has also been earmarked for UP AI Mission. The government claims that this project will not be limited to just a technology park, but a large ecosystem of research, startups, skill development, cyber security and digital governance will be developed here. This is expected to create new opportunities for employment and innovation for the youth.
Trillion dollar economy target will gain momentum
State Transformation Commission Chief Executive Officer Manoj Kumar Singh said that Uttar Pradesh is moving towards becoming a national model of AI transformation in government functions. He believes that AI-based administrative reforms will accelerate the state’s goal of a trillion dollar economy. Principal Secretary of IT and Electronics Department, Alok Kumar said that the government is preparing strong infrastructure for new technologies like AI, quantum computing and deep tech. Special provisions have been made for these areas in the recent budget.
AI will change civil services and governance
The conclave also saw in-depth discussions on cyber security, digital governance, MSMEs, startups and the role of AI in civil services. Experts agreed that in the coming times, Artificial Intelligence will play an important role in increasing the transparency, speed and accountability of government services. Referring to the ‘MANAV’ framework presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi said that the AI of the future should be ethical, accountable, accessible and human centric. He stressed that only safe and reliable AI can become the basis of inclusive development.
What is NIHIT and why is it considered important?
The NIHIT platform is a key initiative driven by the India-US CEO Forum, supported by InMobi, Mastercard and Tata Sons. The platform serves as a knowledge-sharing network between India and the US for innovation, startups, MSMEs, cyber security, and strengthening global supply chains.
Why is UP’s AI model important?
Experts believe that if Uttar Pradesh is successful in implementing its AI policy effectively, the state can emerge as the largest digital and technology hub of the country. Large population, rapidly growing digital infrastructure and clear tech vision at the government level can distinguish UP from other states of the country.
