After ruling theatres and emerging as the romantic blockbuster of 2025, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s Saiyaara made its way to Netflix on September 12. Like its theatrical run, the Mohit Suri-directorial made a smashing entry into the top 5 Indian films on OTT this week.
According to the viewership data released by Ormax, Saiyaara surpassed Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 11. The romantic drama saw a viewership of 5.5 million, whereas the gangster drama came second with 4.7 million. Here are the top 5 Indian films on OTT this week (September 8 to 14).
Saiyaara
Saiyaara did a record-breaking business in theatres with its release on July 18. It is one of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Saiyaara follows the story of Krish, the passionate musician, and Vaani, the lyricist, who fight a cruel twist of destiny. In its debut week on Netflix, the Mohit Suri directorial garnered 5.5 million viewership. Saiyaara is Ahaan Panday’s debut and Aneet Padda’s first film as the lead.
Coolie
Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie features Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, and Rachitha Ram. The Tamil gangster drama arrived on Amazon Prime Video on September 11. In its first week on OTT, the film got a viewership of 4.7 million.
Inspector Zende
Manoj Bajpayee’s dark comedy, Inspector Zende, on Netflix, drew more audience with positive word of mouth. The film based on the life of Madhukar Zende got a viewership of 2.5 million. Inspector Zende’s debut week viewership was 1.5 million.
Kingdom
Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom saw a sharp decline in viewership as compared to the previous week. The action thriller garnered a viewership of 2.3 million. The film is streaming on Netflix.
Maalik
Rajkummar Rao and Manushi Chhillar’s Maalik saw an improvement this week. Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, the gangster drama came fifth with 2 million viewership.
