PM yasasvi scheme: The Government of India has launched PM-Yasasvi (PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award for Vibrant India) scheme which is also known as PM-Yashswi Scholarship Scheme. Through this, the meritorious but economically weaker students of the country can get a chance to study in top class school. The scheme is for OBC, EBC and DNT (other backward classes, economically backward classes and denotified, Nomadic Tribes). Who can apply for PM famous scholarship scheme?
The main objective of this scheme is to provide premium education to meritorious students studying from 9th to 12th. Under this, the government bears the government’s fees, hostels and other necessary expenses. Eligible for this scheme- OBC, EBC and DNT community students. Whose family earns less than 2.5 lakhs annually. Those who are studying in the top class school (TCSS). At least 30 percent of the seats are reserved for girls)
What is the coverage and process of PM Yashasvi Yojana?
Top class schools across the country are selected every year in April. These will be the schools that give 100 percent passing percentage in 10th and 12th consecutives. Schools can be public (Central, State, Local), Aided or Private. Students can apply through online portal (NSP). The selection is completely merit based.
What are the benefits and grants?
- Class 9 and 10: Per students up to Rs 75,000 annually.
- Class 11 and 12: Per students up to Rs 1,25,000 annually.
- Money is given directly to the student’s bank account in DBT mode.
- Payments are made before August 15 in many installments a year.
How to apply online for PM Yashasvi Scholarship Scheme?
- For new registration, first go to the National Scholarship portal scholarships.gov.in and click on ‘New Registration’.
- Read the guideline, tick and control the undertaking check box.
- Complete the registration by filling the necessary details.
- Registered students now login to NSP and choose ‘Fresh Application’.
- Login by adding application id and password.
- Select scholarship and fill the application form.
- Upload and submit the required document.
PM-Yashswi Scholarship Scheme: What is the selection process?
The school’s nodal officers will verify the online application. Then the state government will confirm it. After that the merit list (separate for children and girls) will be prepared based on the final examination numbers. Scholarship is allotted according to merit.
