New Delhi: BYD India, a subsidiary of BYD, has announced a price revision across its electric passenger vehicle lineup, effective from July 1st. The price surge, driven by sustained foreign exchange movements, will be between 1 and 2 per cent, depending on the model and trim.
To support customer planning and ensure greater price certainty, BYD India will extend current prices to customers who complete bookings in May and June 2026, that is, if delivery is taken on or before July 31st. Bookings made on or after July 1st will be subject to the revised pricing. BYD had previously noted that it would be increasing the prices in May.
Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business at BYD India, Rajeev Chauhan, said, “This price revision is in lieu of foreign exchange fluctuations. Even in a challenging market environment, BYD India remains focused on delivering high-value, advanced, safe, and premium electric mobility solutions to customers. We continue to see strong market demand for products such as the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD Sealion 7, reflecting growing confidence in premium electric mobility among Indian consumers.”
BYD’s growing presence in the Indian market
BYD India is still improving its presence in the market through its growing portfolio of premium NEVs that bring together advanced technology, performance, safety, and sustainability. The BYD Atto 3, in fact, has come as a great nameplate in the premium electric SUV segment, and the recently introduced BYD Sealion 7 also had a decent response.
BYD has been bringing quite advanced in-house tech, which includes things like the Blade Battery, Cell-to-Body integration, and the 8-in-1 electric powertrain, which makes for faster charging, improved driving range and even the cabin quality is quite premium. BYD globally has also introduced its second-generation Blade Battery and advanced flash-charging technology.
In India, the brand is spread across 48 dealership networks in 40 cities, coming with integrated sales and service across the nation. A proper breakdown of the price hasn’t been given, and it would be best to track the price surge on the website or visit your nearest dealership.
