Janhvi Kapoor is playing the female lead opposite Ram Charan in “Peddi,” and the recently released glimpse and poster had already hinted at a political angle surrounding her character.
Many initially speculated that she could be playing a village sarpanch.
Now, fresh buzz suggests that Janhvi Kapoor portrays the daughter of an MLA in the film.
There is also talk in industry circles that her role carries shades similar to Parineeti Chopra’s fiery character in the Bollywood film Ishaqzaade.
Although her screen time may not be extensive, sources say Janhvi has a strong and impactful role in the sports drama. She is also reportedly featured in three songs in the film.
After making her Telugu debut with “Devara,” Janhvi was said to be hoping to continue the franchise with “Devara 2.”
However, the sequel has reportedly been delayed indefinitely, with no clarity on when it will begin production over the next couple of years.
As a result, Janhvi is now placing major hopes on “Peddi,” which is gearing up for release on June 4.
