A video of Jamwanti Singh, mother of Ballia resident Raj Singh alias Chandan, who was arrested in the Chandranath Rath murder case of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, is going viral on social media. In the video, she is declaring her son innocent and claiming that he has been implicated in a conspiracy.
Police today took major action in the case of murder of Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari’s PA Chandranath Rath in Kolkata on the night of 6th May. Police from Kolkata have arrested Raj Singh alias Chandan of Ballia from Ayodhya. Police are considering him as the suspected shooter in the murder case. Meanwhile, a video of accused Raj’s mother is going viral. In which she is calling her son innocent.

Jamwanti Singh, mother of arrested Raj Singh, while talking to the media, said that her son is innocent and he has been implicated in a conspiracy. The mother also claimed that Raj Singh was not arrested while returning from the wedding. Rather, the police caught him when the entire family had gone to visit the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The mother said- My son was here on the 6th when Suvendu Adhikari’s PA was murdered. He was busy preparing for the wedding. Was buying new clothes for myself. When he never went to Kolkata then why has my son been implicated in this case.

Jamwanti, mother of the accused, said- My son was preparing for the marriage of the daughter of the MLC of our area. His daughter’s wedding was to take place on 7th in Lucknow. He had to go there, I also went with him. I told him that after returning from the wedding, we would go to Ayodhya for darshan. After having darshan of Ramlala in Ayodhya, we left the temple. The children were feeling hungry so we stopped at a dhaba to eat. But during this time Kolkata police came and kidnapped all of us. Then he was kept in the police station overnight and was not allowed to meet anyone. When morning came, he took his son to Bengal. I couldn’t even meet my son. The woman cried and said that I keep requesting the government that I just want justice… I have many proofs… My son has not gone anywhere… He is not a criminal…

The accused Raj Singh alias Chandan is originally a resident of Anand Nagar, Ballia. There are also photos of him with many big leaders on his social media. He is accused of murdering an egg businessman in 2020 and was on bail. Accused Raj Singh has contested the elections of councilor and block chief. Not only this, he is also said to have relations with many senior BJP leaders. He has been arrested from Ayodhya.
